Description
Windows 11 Professional for Workstations: work productively, securely, and efficiently in businesses
As the name suggests, Windows 11 Enterprise is aimed primarily at businesses. They receive the operating system version that best suits their requirements. For example, it supports online collaboration, hybrid working from home and the office, and effective multitasking. However, users of previous Windows operating systems need not worry about having to make major adjustments. In particular, the “DNA” of Windows 10 is still clearly evident in this operating system. Windows 11 is nevertheless leaner, faster, more secure, and more productive.
Windows 11: These product features are especially important
- Virtualization makes hybrid working easier and more secure
- Comprehensive security measures to protect sensitive data
- Operating system deployment and management just like in Windows 10
- Compatibility with virtually all Windows 10 apps
- Automation of tasks that previously had to be performed manually can be configured
Windows 11 for businesses: How it fits into the operating system editions
Windows 11 is available in five editions in total. The first three versions are intended for the vast majority of users. The other two editions are aimed at specific user groups:
- Windows 11 Home for home users and students
- Windows 11 Pro for professionals, freelancers, self-employed people, and university students
- Windows 11 Enterprise for businesses or freelancers and self-employed people who work at many different locations as part of their job (for example, consultants)
- Windows 11 for Education (the Pro version tailored specifically to educational institutions)
- Windows 11 for Workstations for users with particularly powerful hardware
As with Windows 10, Microsoft's various operating system editions offer increasing levels of professional features. Depending on the edition, they are enhanced with additional functions to make users' daily work easier. For example, compared with the Home edition, Windows 11 Pro allows apps to be downloaded from outside the Windows Store. The special features of the Enterprise edition were already outlined above. They are explained in simple terms below.
Windows' special security measures
The Microsoft operating system supports Zero Trust. This means that user roles can be configured so that users are actually only able to perform tasks for which they have been explicitly authorized. Multi-factor authentication methods can also be configured. Additional safeguards, such as a greatly improved Windows Defender and Hypervisor-protected Code Integrity, protect against external attacks and create a defensive barrier around sensitive data.
Virtualization supports hybrid working
Windows 11 supports virtualization better than any predecessor. This particularly benefits hybrid working, as it is possible, for example, to access the same operating system running on a virtual machine from both a home office and an office workstation. The same applies to virtualized development platforms, for instance. Virtualization is also helpful for security, as the relevant systems run in a sandbox—they are isolated from the outside and do not put the corporate network at risk.
Automation: Users can focus on their actual work
Until now, operating systems required many routine tasks to be performed manually, even when they were always carried out in exactly the same way. Windows 11 Enterprise changes this. Recurring tasks can be automated, giving users more time to focus on their actual work. The relevant settings are very simple and intuitive to navigate. Even users who are less familiar with IT solutions can set up automation after a short time without additional help.
Multitasking is much easier
“Simplicity” is generally a central guiding principle of Windows 11 Enterprise. After all, making things easier increases efficiency and, in turn, productivity. For example, video conferencing in this operating system makes it easier to share your screen. Snap Assist has been introduced to improve multitasking. You can choose from templates to arrange multiple open programs side by side on the screen. If, for example, you need to transfer figures from a document and an email into Excel, you can have all the information and the spreadsheet in front of you within seconds with a mouse click or touch input. Choose Windows 11 Enterprise now and improve your daily work in your
